Kuzina by Sofia has shut its doors after seeking Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection, according to the Courier Post, http://www.courierpostonline.com/story/news/local/south-jersey/2016/09/08/kuzina-restaurant-close-cherryhill/90094302/

The Greek and Mediterranean restaurant was located in Cherry Hill New Jersey on Route 70.  The owners, a husband and wife, will  focus on their catering service and wholesale business.

Assad Khoury said, “Sofia has been battling this thing (the restaurant business) for the last nine years and she’s really tired.”

According to court records, the company operated under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from May 2012 through September 2014 and had significant debt, including tax liabilities,  and limited assets.

A trustee moved on July 28 to convert the case from a Chapter 11 to a Chapter 7, allowing the business’s liquidation.

The trustee is attempting to sell the assets at the Sawmill Village site in Cherry Hill, NJ.

The catering firm, Cooking With Sofia, will serve individual customers and also hold dining events for the public. “We’re sorry to be out of the business, but in a way we’re still in the business…We want to thank everyone for being our customers all those years.”
